Unwavering

Kaila Bigler is a multimedia artist with an extensive background in a variety of creative practices.

Kaila’s greatest creations are her children, Keegan and Kenley. The journey into motherhood showed her what true unconditional love is, and it has influenced her work ever since. Kaila is also a full time art educator, tattoo artist, and freelance creator.

She brings all of her creative experiences together when painting. She allows her experiences with tattooing, and her experiences as an art educator, to inform her work as an independent artist. As a tattoo artist she is marking intentionally, using bold colors and outlines. As an art educator she is adding the confidence captured in pure creative freedom from making work with children in the classroom.

UNWAVERING is a commentary on the dichotomy between natural and artificial. Kaila’s work consists of depictions of lush skin, a variety of textures, metallics, and layers of storytelling. Eyes are often displayed to represent the silent bystanders, those that see, maybe even judge; however watchful the eyes, the identities and voices are never present. From there, colors and textures dance across the canvas, many times informing the content as it is created in a fully immersed state of flow.

Kaila’s career as an artist has been inspired by love, and translated through life experiences. While working with children she discovered the importance of growing with intention, and is always working to evolve as an artist, teacher, and mother.
